John Kerry : Monde doit « intensifier » les efforts Anti-Ebola

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secrétaire d'État John Kerry fait un appel urgent mercredi pour des Nations Unies d'intensifier leur riposte à l'épidémie du virus mortel Ebola, disant plus d'argent, de matériel et personnel est nécessaires maintenant.

Parlant avec British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, Kerry a ajouté qu'il est essentiel pour les compagnies aériennes à garder migrant vers l'Afrique de l'Ouest et des frontières restera ouverte pour permettre la circulation de l'aide et du personnel médical.

Washington (AFP) - Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma assailed the global community's slow response to the Ebola epidemic Thursday as slower than the transmission of the disease through West Africa.

"This slower-than-the-virus response needs to change," he told the heads of the United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington.

World Bank President Jim Kim demands $20 billion  fund and says ‘we failed miserably’ as cases in Spain and US fuel fear of western pandemic
 
He said Wednesday that the international community had “failed miserably” in its response to the Ebola virus that has killed more than 3,800 people in west Africa and warned that the crisis now affecting Spain and the US was going to get much worse.

Amid signs yesterday that western governments were being forced to take the risks of a global pandemic more seriously, Kim said he wanted them to back a new $20bn (£12bn) global health fund that would be able to react instantly to emergencies.
