2012 Conference
The Third Biennial Championing Public Health Nutrition
October 29-30, 2012 at the University of Toronto's Hart House
7 Hart House Circle, Toronto, Canada
Health and food-policy experts, key policy-makers, journalists, and health advocates from across Canada and around the world will explore how to reform public health nutrition policies. The conference will convene at the University of Toronto's Hart House Great Hall, steps away from the Ontario Legislature.
Program
The Third Biennial Championing Public Health Nutrition conference will explore measures to reduce the human and economic toll of nutrition-related illness. Attendees will take stock of progress in proposals to protect children, improve the nutritional quality of the food supply, safeguard the public policy process from commercial conflicts of interest, strengthen school nutrition standards and subsidies, reduce the amount of sodium in the food supply and diets and, generally to better make food policies serve rather than erode the public's health and economic well-being. We will hear, first hand, from leaders at the city, provincial, national, and international level.
